AUTUMN NOEL
FABRICATION, ANIMATION & SOUND DESIGN
BIO
Autumn Noel, currently a New England based artist, is finishing her senior year at Maine College of Art & Design where she is earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation & Game Art with a Minor in Music.
Noel has explored many kinds of animation since being in school, however she's found herself especially devoted to the stop motion pipeline, sound design, and 2D effects. Collaborative environments are where Noel thrives the most, as she is passionate about using her skills to support other artists in their visions while consistently learning new ways of thinking. Recently she was able to support in a whole new way as a teaching assistant for the 2025-2025 stop motion class at MECA&D.
Noel has worked on various artworks in the last couple years that have been publicly recognized. For "Orange World", Noel has rendered sculpture pieces for stop motion to be showcased in the form of interactive installation, which was awarded Best 4D Work in the 2024 MECA&D Merit Show. Collaborative film, “Off Track” (2024), has been accepted into eight film festivals, and placed in two of them. “Lotti” and “Boombop”, installed in the 2023 MECA&D BFA Show, received an Honorable Mention.
Noel is currently working on a thesis project where she is integrating a wide variety of design elements and engineering skills to challenge the way stop motion is understood and celebrated. Not only will the project explore designing and constructing a rotating stop motion set, but there are several unique puppets, each made of a different material!
